Ordering food at Sheridan College just got a little easier. There’s a new tool on the market to help students get their food faster, without standing in long lines. It’s called Boost.

“We started Boost with the mission to cut down student wait time while they wait for food. Our goal is to eliminate lineups altogether, ” said Trevor Dewan, Sheridan Advertising and Marketing student and Boost marketing team member.

“The app works with the students, their food will be bagged and ready by the time they arrive. It’s a ‘grab and go’ concept.”

Boost is available on iOS and Android devices. Students have to set up an account, and they have the ability to select their school and campus. Next they pre-order from any of the food outlets on campus, and pre-pay for their food. Then they pick it up.

Not every college accepts Boost, but the app is part of a growing trend.
“As of right now the app is available for Sheridan College, Mohawk College, Humber College and George Brown College. We’re slowly rolling the app out and hope to have it available to more colleges and universities in the GTA by the end of this term,” said Dewan.

“I heard about this app through a friend in my program. He said it was very convenient and easy to use, and I have to agree with him. I’ve used the app at least five times in the first three weeks of school,” said Rachel Wolf, a fourth-year Photography student at Sheridan.
“As of right now, Sheridan College Trafalgar Campus has the most downloads and users. The app is still in its early stages, as students are still becoming accustomed to it,” said Dewan.

The app also has a mobile wallet feature if students forget cash or credit cards.
