For two years, campus assault, rape culture, and victim-shaming have been regular fixtures in Canadian news. After Sheridan College experienced a string of assaults near campus over the past year, students debated on whether safety was their personal responsibility, or if the blame belonged to the (still uncaught) perpetrator.
After posing this very question on Facebook, the polarizing response from students inspired me to dig a little deeper into the problem.
