Wakie is a social alarm clock made of a community of people from around the world who wake each other up. The creator’s call people who wake others “wakies, and those who need to wake up are “sleepies.”

To be woken up, you set your alarm, and you’ll get a phone call from someone in the community within five minutes of your alarm. If no one is available to get you up, Wakie’s automated robot will call to wish you a happy day.

You can also wake people up through the app by pressing the ‘Wake someone up’ tab under the horn. Be creative when waking the sleepy up, “sing songs, recite poems, tell jokes or ask them about their lives.”

2. PoopLog

PoopLog is an app that helps track your bowel movements using the Bristol Stool Scale. Although it may seem like a joke application, it was actually made because the creator had problems with his bowel. He decided to create the app to make tracking easier, and hoped it would help others who had the same problem. With the app you can record the type of bowel movement, volume and time. You could attach a note or a picture, which you can share on social media.

3. Bounden

Bounden will have you and your buddy arm locked in all sorts of weird positions as you follow a series of obstacles to dance together. Players will have to hold onto opposite ends of the screen to manipulate a ball on the spherical world by manoeuvring the phone to hit ring-shaped markers. Players will twirl, spin and swing their arms to hit the path of circles, leading them to dance. It has seven levels, which gradually increase in difficulty. Bounden is choreographed by the Dutch National Ballet and has accompanying instrumentals by Bart Delissen.

4. RunPee

Unfortunately, there’s no pause button when you need to take a pee break at the movie theatres. For those who insist on getting the extra large refillable fountain drinks, there’s the app RunPee. Each movie has a list of pee times with scenes about three to five minutes long and don’t interfere with crucial plot twists, laugh out loud moments or exciting action.

When the movie starts, activate the timer and it will vibrate before each pee time. A synopsis of what you missed will also be provided. Be aware that with a good movie the app sometimes gives pee times that are important, but easy to summarize. RunPee also tells you whether you should stay after closing credits for the last scenes.

5. BroApp

BroApp is an app that automatically sends personal messages to your girlfriend. To set up your automated messages you’ll have to go through a series of steps:

  • Provide your girlfriend’s number.
  • Select and edit messages you would like to send.
  • Provide wifi points from work, home and your girlfriend’s home, so the app knows when and when not to send texts.
  • Select the days you would like to have your auto-texts sent.
  • Schedule the time you would like your messages to be sent.

You’ll also set a password for the app, just in case your girlfriend snoops though your phone. If given the wrong password, the app will go on girlfriend safety lockdown, and redirect her to a list of gifts you were “planning to buy” her. BroApp is deemed to be your “clever relationship wingman.”
